His aerial ability is limited given his stature, but offensively he could also choose to be a touch less wasteful with passes in behind. Given his teammates tend to play nice attacking football, Trossard could also benefit from linking up with teammates more as opposed to always trying to go it alone.

A classic penalty box forward, Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson might be the difference between relegation and consolidation. The 29-year-old suffers from regular injuries, but when fit is one of the most consistent strikers in the Premier League.

Having made his move from Bournemouth, Wilson has played a big role in helping Newcastle to pick up more points than they might have expected. Without Wilson, the attack looks limp and fresh out of ideas. With Wilson, though, Newcastle look like they might just have a chance.

What makes Callum Wilson worth watching?

Put simply – his finishing and teamplay. The striker has contributed to 15 goals in just 21 games for Newcastle, scoring 10 on his own. He has been one of the main reasons why Newcastle actually score goals; without his finishing and link-up, they tend to look very poor physically upfront and lack any kind of meaningful link-up or invention.

Though never the biggest or strongest, Wilson wins more than his fair share of headers and tends to be a big part of how Newcastle attack. Without him, they have far less options in terms of the types of chances they can score from.

Things to improve for Callum Wilson

The main issue for Wilson, which be hard to change at 29, is his lack of hold-up play. Despite gaining 5 assists, the ball can bounce off of Wilson and he can lose the ball far too easily in a key attacking position. He also has a pretty nasty habit of going offside when he could easily have stayed onside.

However, he is a natural finisher and has provided the Toon with some crucial key goals to help keep relegation a possibility as opposed to a certainty. If he was more consistent outside of pure shooting, though, he might even be an asset at international level.

However, the 29-year-old has become a reliable attacking option for Ralph Hasenhüttl, becoming a regular option for shooting, finishing moves off, and for building moves up with his slick passing and intelligent off-the-ball movement.

Hair aside, the best thing about Armstrong is his perpetual desire to get involved on the offensive end. Three goals and four assists so far this season shows a player who has no problem playing a role for the team, often starting on the right hand side of midfield. He has played elsewhere, but his performances are consistently at their best as an energetic, aggressive right-side midfielder.

An excellent shooter from distance, too, Armstrong tends to get involved going back the way as well as going forward. He has added stamina, durability, and a desire to get stuck in to his game in recent years.

Things to improve for Stuart Armstrong

Despite the obvious talent, the one thing with Armstrong is that he can be Player of the Month, then not be seen for weeks. The big challenge he faces, though, tends to be an issue for the wider team; can he sustain runs of form that are so impressive?

Despite being a clearly talented midfielder, Armstrong can vanish from games for too long. He often stays working hard and trying, but if he wishes to go to another level before his peak ends it will come from adding more consistency over solving any particular weakness.

Hard-tackling and aggressive, it would be fair to say that 24-year-old Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma has earned his recognition. By playing for an unfashionable national side in terms of prestige and playing the ‘ball winner’ role for a ball-playing Brighton and Hove Albion side, Bissouma often flies under the radar for fans from other clubs.

For bird-eyed Seagulls fans, though, it would be hard to deny that Bissouma is one of the most important cogs in a Brighton midfield that can often look wonderful or wretched.

What makes Yves Bissouma worth watching?

Despite standing at only 1.82m, Bissouam makes a habit of getting involved in the physical side of the game. Winning aerial battles is a big part of his game, as is going to ground to win the ball back. A strong tackler and smart stealer of the ball in interceptions, Bissouma regularly screens the defence or sits just slightly ahead. His strong contributions in the middle help to give the more attacking Brighton players plenty of chance to move forward.

With only 6 yellow cards this year, too, Bissouma can say with pretty significant confidence that he can mix it without losing his composure.

Things to improve for Yves Bissouma

Though Bissouma can sometimes have one too many cracks from distance, his main problem stems from committing dangerous fouls. If he can start to give fouls away even five or ten yards further up the pitch, it would help his team to avoid the concession of set piece goals that could otherwise have been avoided.

His long range shooting is consistent, too, in that he often hits the target but fails to actually score. For a player who has rarely contributed goals in a Brighton shirt, his regular shooting form distance can become a minor frustration for his teammates.
